This is maybe my favorite book out of the whole series, and I want everyone to read it ASAP so you can all be as happy as I am about the fact that this series is back! It's a relatively compact volume, compared to some of the previous books, and continues to focus on Valkyrie's evolution as a reluctant hero. There's still plenty of snappy dialogue, kick-ass action sequences, and characters to love, but this book is more introspective and mature in a very satisfying way to those of us who have participated in Valkyrie's journey through the series. As always, Landy ended this one with a twist that sucked the breath out of me, and I can't wait for the next one.
