The first part was so funny. I confess to laughing so hard it brought tears to my eyes reading about the date that picked his nose and then did the pull my finger! Frankly, I so needed a good laugh after the last horrible 2 weeks.

I got a bit frustrated by J.T. acting like a jerk, but at least he realized it immediately and felt bad. I also got a bit ticked off at Jordan because I have a real issue with using another person to make someone jealous. Luckily, she did not lead Steve on too long. Jared (Jordan's brother) was a dick at one point too. Grannie, mom and Derek and Leah were fun colorful background characters. Overall, I would recommend it as a fun little humorous romance that most will enjoy.

Some quotes:

“By the way, do you guys ever wash underneath your tables?”
“Shut up!” Mike’s eyes widened to the size of half dollar coins. “He didn’t go fishing and leave some bait behind did he?”
“A fairly sizable one far as I could tell.”

This one had definitely failed to launch out of boyhood and into manhood. Pull my finger? Grabbing hold of the edge of the table, I carefully stood and made my way back to the bar. I definitely needed another drink to make it through dessert.

...recalling one of Grannie’s favorite quotes from Ernest Hemingway which she shared with me on my twenty-first birthday. “Always do sober what you said you’d do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.”

Date Night Wish Come True Book 1 edition by RC Matthews Nas Dean Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This was a fast read. It's a cute premise, but was a little cheesy and predictable for my taste. The characters and story aren't overly complex. While it played out a bit like a made for tv movie, I think some people looking for a cute, short romance may enjoy this.
Sweet and romantic. JT is the dream guy every girl will find themselves rooting for. As a Master degree student myself and someone who juggles family, full time work, and life though, I was a bit irritated that he kept using that as an excuse not to follow his heart. Other than that, everyone except for "beef jerky" and the "pull my finger guy" is likable.
First, a confession. I am not a person that normally reads Romance novels. I’m not even sure what caused me to read this one. But that said it was a decent read with engaging characterization and while the plot was fairly predictable it wasn’t without its twists and turns and wasn’t forced into dipping its toes into cheap erotica. I enjoyed reading it a lot more than I thought I would and would read more by this author.
Sometimes it's just fun to read a good,no drama filled book. The two main characters have known each other for years. They don't realize that the are attracted to each other until Grannie sends her granddaughter, Jordan, on dates through a dating service. JT works at the restaurant where these dates occur. it is fun watching them find each other. I am interested in the next one in the series.
I like friends to lovers series and this book had a lot of promise. The beginning was cute, and I liked the multiple first person POVs. I also loved Grannie. But...there was a lot of bathroom humor which was kind of gross and I thought the characters were a little immature, even though JT had been taking care of his brother since he was nineteen. I didn't really feel the closeness of JT and Jordan as friends, or of JT and his brother. I've read a lot of books with this plot and I wanted more! I did like the scrapbook that Gannie and Jordan kept.
The premise of the book had a lot of promise, but I don't feel that the overall book, as a stand alone book, delivered. It was very predictable, with no unique twists, no unexpected developments. The plot itself could have been fleshed out more, and the characters better developed. There were no surprises, nothing to make the story feel as if it wasn't the same plot I had seen in numerous other dime store romance novels. In addition, the constant switching of character perspective made it very difficult to keep track of whose thoughts I was actually reading, especially when the heroine would refer to her mother as Mrs. Billette. The book was extremely short - it only took me about an hour and a half to read the entire book. Overall I do not feel that I got a good value for either the time nor the money that I had invested in this story.
With an adverse medical diagnosis, Grannie sets about making her dream of seeing her granddaughter wed before she passes come true, and the scheme involves Jordon having biweekly dates through a dating service at the restaurant JT works at (Jordon's brother's best friend) so he can keep an eye on things for Grannie, but the dates are one disaster after the next and only serve to make Jordan and JT realize the feelings they have for each other. For once a story about a brother's best friend and the little sister getting together, but with no long standing crush on either side. It was really great to see two people with a long history as being strictly friends, begin to see each other in a new light. The difficulties of Jordan's brother's reaction, timing with regard to life plans, and other outside influences come into play and make things a little interesting. Great Read! I look forward to reading Jared and Leah's story in Fair Game, and I hope to see it out soon!
